PN2017 Nursing Practice II
This course provides students with the foundational knowledge and hands-on skills required to deliver safe, competent, and holistic nursing care. Integrating theoretical instruction, laboratory practice, and clinical experience, students learn to support the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of clients. Key skills include elimination interventions (enemas, suppositories), oxygen therapy, sterile technique, simple wound care, safe medication administration (oral and non-parenteral), and pre- and postoperative care. Through a combination of classroom learning and supervised lab sessions, students will develop a strong understanding of the theory behind each skill and build confidence through practical application. Weekly clinical placements offer students the opportunity to further apply these skills with real clients, reinforcing critical thinking, communication, and client-centered care.
