Northern College is seeking a Clinical Documentation and Reporting Clerk in our Health Sciences and Emergency Services department. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, specifically the ability to work with students and other staff, to provide clear and consistent direction in a timely manner, and the ability to explain clinical requirements to different stakeholders. In addition, the successful candidate will have knowledge of business software applications such as Word Processing, spreadsheets and Outlook.

Reporting to the Dean of Health Sciences and Emergency Services, the successful candidate will support the BScN, PN, PSW, Med Lab, ECE, and potential other new programs in the collection of clinical documentation for students (e.g. MMR, Polio, Tetanus/Diptheria/Pertusis, Varicella immunizations and criminal reference checks) and TB testing services as per requirements of partner agencies for student placements for each of the above programs. This role would support students across multiple campuses throughout the year.
What you will be doing:
- Communicate in a timely manner with incoming and current students regarding clinical documentation requirements;
- Meet with students to receive their documentation, maintain a secure tracking system of clinical documentation submitted and ensure appropriate follow-up with students regarding outstanding requirements;
- Liaise with external agencies and clinical partners regarding any updates or additional requirements for students in the clinical setting and ensure the appropriate College staff are informed and College documents are updated accordingly; and
- Arrange for and deliver TB skin testing clinics at each campus for all students as required.

What you will need to be considered:
- 2-year diploma in the field of Practical Nursing or related/equivalent;
- Minimum 3 years experience in a nursing environment;
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as a Registered Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse with membership in good standing; and
- Current liability insurance;
