Important Dates for Fall 2024

New students will receive their Confirmation of Registration (COR) via email once the registration starts on Monday, July 29, 2024. Please be advised that each student will be manually registered program by program. You can reach international@northern.on.ca for help if you have not received your COR more than one week since you uploaded your visa copy through the application portal.

Mandatory Orientation: Tuesday, September 3, 2024

A mandatory orientation for all international students who are registered to start their program for Fall 2024 will take place on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.

Detailed information and the registration link for the Orientation will be sent to you the week of Monday, July 29, 2024 via your applicant email and your Northern College email address.

Semester Starts & Classes Begin: Wednesday, September 4, 2024

Students must arrive in Canada prior to the mandatory Orientation date September 3, 2024 and be prepared to start classes on September 4, 2024.

Deferral Deadline: Wednesday, September 4, 2024

Withdrawal & Refund and Last Day to Add, Drop or Change Courses: Tuesday, September 17, 2024.

Confirmation of Registration

International students who have obtained their visa approvals and reported their visa copy via OCAS IAS (where you submitted your application to us) will be registered in the order that the visa approvals are received.

It is very important that you upload a copy of your visa through the portal immediately when your visa is approved. Otherwise, we cannot proceed with your registration.

There are maximum seats for each program the college offers, if you do not confirm your visa early, we cannot guarantee you a seat in your program.

Once you are registered, your Confirmation of Registration (CoR) letter will be sent to you through email.

This letter includes all the required information such as:

  • Tuition fee payment information for the first semester,
  • Your Northern College email address,
  • Your Student Portal account information and Blackboard login

This is your enrolment letter to get through the Canadian Border when you arrive in Canada. The college will NOT issue any other enrolment letter to you until you arrive on campus.

Only students who received the CoR letter are permitted to travel to Canada for their studies.

Starting September 2024, international student health insurance coverage will be through StudyInsured.

Prior to September 2024, international student health insurance is through MorCare.
